The San Francisco 49ers today announced Visa, one of the Club's long-time partners, as the proud sponsor of the 49ers practice jersey. The players' practice jerseys will now bear the Visa logo on the left shoulder for the remainder of the 2009 season.
"The San Francisco 49ers and Visa have a longstanding partnership that has scored big for both organizations," said Andy Dolich, 49ers chief operating officer. "Everyone knows that winning begins on the practice field. Having a Visa partner with us on the jersey is a strong message of teamwork."
Visa is a proud sponsor of the NFL and the preferred credit card of the San Francisco 49ers. The Bay Area based company has sponsored the 49ers since the 1995 season, and is the only credit card that can be used to purchase tickets.
Several 49ers players have been highlighted in Visa's national promotional campaigns, and both organizations have worked together to promote the Visa Signature brand. Visa is also the presenting sponsor of the Club's Shop With a 49ers Player community program, an event giving underprivileged youth the opportunity to purchase holiday gifts for their families.
"Visa is proud to be the official practice jersey sponsor of our hometown team, the San Francisco 49ers," said Michael Lynch, head of global sponsorship management. "The NFL plays a large role in the lives of our cardholders, and this extension to our longstanding relationship with the team allows us connect our brand with our cardholder's passions."
The Visa practice jersey patches are white with the Visa logo on the center and measure 1.5" x 2.5".
