The San Francisco 49ers announced they have completed a trade with the Cleveland Browns. The 49ers have acquired QB Colt McCoy and an undisclosed 2013 draft pick in return for sending the Browns two undisclosed 2013 draft picks. McCoy passed a physical earlier today in the Bay Area to finalize the deal.

"We are pleased to add another high-character player like Colt to our roster," said 49ers General Manager Trent Baalke. "He is a young, competitive player who we are looking forward to working with."

McCoy (6-1, 220) was originally selected by the Cleveland Browns in the third round (85th overall selection) of the 2010 NFL Draft. In three seasons, he has played in 24 games (21 starts), completing 409 of 702 pass attempts for 4,388 yards, 21 touchdowns.

A 26-year-old native of Tuscola, TX, McCoy played collegiately at the University of Texas, where he finished his career completing 1,157 of 1,645 passes for 13,253 yards and 112 touchdowns. He added 447 rushing attempts for 1,571 yards and 20 scores, on the way to finishing his collegiate career with 47 school records. At the time McCoy left Texas, he had tallied the most wins of any starting quarterback in NCAA history (45-8).
