2013 Gold Rush Tryouts Begin

The San Francisco 49ers hosted open auditions for the 49ers 2013 Gold Rush Squad, one of the NFL's premiere performance groups.

Nearly 500 applicants entered with 32 girls to be chosen for the 2013 team.

The four-phase process began with preliminary auditions, on Saturday, April 6 at Maples Pavilion at Stanford University. Applicants were judged on dance ability, crowd appeal, showmanship and individual applications. At the end of the preliminary auditions, a group of finalists were selected.

The final dance audition will take place on Thursday, April 11 from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at the Santa Clara Convention Center. Final auditions will be the only phase open to the public.

Over the past 30 years, the 49ers Gold Rush Cheerleaders have established a reputation as one of the NFL's premiere performance groups. The squad has been featured on many national television shows, performed for numerous USO tours around the world, and appeared in Super Bowls.
