How do you spend your time outside of Gold Rush?
I have a hard time sitting still! I spend a lot of time outside of Gold Rush traveling. I travel often with my family, with friends, and for work. In the past year, some of my travel highlights include Tokyo, China, Mexico City, Cabo, and South of France. I also love to explore my own city by trying new restaurants with my friends. I stay active by hiking, golfing, snowboarding, ice skating, and trying different work out classes. Creatively, I love making clothes and doing projects with my sewing machine.
Where were you born and where do you live now?
I was born in Los Angeles and raised in Claremont, a suburb of LA County. After going to college in North Carolina, where I also lived for short stints in Peru and Spain, I settled in San Francisco. I'm a California girl through and through.
What professional accomplishment are you most proud of?
As an international marketing manager for one of the largest apparel retailers in the US, I'm proud to have played an active role in launching our business in new countries. I helped launch the business in India, Kuwait, Mexico, and the Dominican Republic and had the opportunity to travel to these destinations to support the launches in market.
What's something our fans would be surprised to learn about you?
1 – I speak three languages: English, Spanish, and Mandarin. I love being able to connect with people from all around the world. I'd love to live abroad one day!
2 – I was a competitive ice dancer throughout my childhood up until I graduated from college where I represented Duke Figure Skating Club. In middle school and high school, I competed with a partner in pairs ice dancing at the national level and was a member of the US Figure Skating Scholastic Honors Team. Ice dance was a big part of my life that many don't know about!
What is your favorite memory at Levi's® Stadium?
My favorite memory is the playoff game against the Cowboys. That game was incredibly special to me because it was our first playoff game of my Rookie season and the game fell on the same day as Lunar New Year. For that game, I was given the opportunity to share my Chinese heritage via social media game day takeover alongside one of my best friends and teammate, Grace. I feel lucky to have experienced that game in a way that's particularly special to me.
What's the energy like in the Gold Rush locker room on game day?
I would describe the energy in the Gold Rush locker room as controlled chaos. Everyone prepares and gets ready for game day in their own way and as you walk around, you can feel every range of emotion from focused concentration to excited anticipation. Ultimately, everyone is grateful to be there and ramping up the energy to give it their all.
What does it mean to be a Gold Rush Cheerleader?
To me, being a Gold Rush Cheerleader is being a representative for the legendary 49ers organization and beyond that, being a representative for the Bay Area. We are not only athletes and entertainers, but we are also proud representatives of the various communities and backgrounds that are essential to the Bay Area. The Gold Rush team is a snapshot of what makes the Bay unique in terms of spirit, heritage, and industries.
Who is YOUR biggest cheerleader?
My grandma is one of my biggest supporters. She's the only other dancer in my family and takes a special interest in my dance career. Fun fact, we went viral a few years ago for making dance videos together. She's everyone's favorite dancing grandma!
Tell us about your journey of becoming a Gold Rush cheerleader.
A lifetime of dancing has led me to becoming a Gold Rush cheerleader. I started ballet as a toddler and expanded into jazz and contemporary on my middle school and high school dance teams. In college, I joined a multi-style dance group and continued to train in new styles while strengthening my leadership skills. Prior to Gold Rush, I was a member of INQ Dance Company based in Oakland which introduced me to the Bay Area dance community.
My experience auditioning for professional dance teams has made me the determined and persistent person I am today. I heard my fair share of no's and encountered many challenges but overcoming those challenges taught me how to build my confidence from within and to be my own biggest cheerleader. I now get to share this energy with others and cheer on my teammates, the Faithful, and the 49ers.
