How do you spend your time outside of Gold Rush?
Outside of Gold Rush I try my best to stay as busy as possible, I love taking or teaching dances, or simply hanging out with my family or friends. I absolutely love reading and if I get the chance to I will spend hours a day with my face in a good book.
What is a non-profit organization you're involved in and why did you choose to get Involved?
A non-profit organization that I am involved in is the Epilepsy Foundation of America. I became involved because I was diagnosed with Epilepsy at the age of 8 and still struggle with the disorder today. I personally know how difficult it is to live and talk about seizures, but I believe it is extremely important to educate others on neurological disorders because it is so common in the world. My goal is to use my platform to bring awareness and help individuals who struggle every day.
Who or what inspires you?
Someone who inspires me is my older brother Marcos. Marcos is currently a Helitack Firefighter for Cal Fire and has done so many amazing things in his career. He is truly a hero to everyone he meets but he has been my hero since he was 4 years old and I was born. I couldn't have asked for a better big brother who supports and guides me in my life. When he is not fighting fire or saving lives he's always with his family and is truly the glue that holds us together.
What's something our fans would be surprised to learn about you?
I am obsessed with cows and collect cow themed items like squishmallows, blankets, paintings, clothes and more.
What is your favorite memory at Levi's® Stadium?
There are so many amazing memories from Levi's that I can speak about for hours but one that sticks out is last season's NFC Championship, specifically the halftime performance by Journey. It was such an amazing time for the Gold Rush and something we cherish so much. The song Don't Stop Believin' has now become our theme song and is so special every time we hear it.
What's the energy like in the Gold Rush locker room on game day?
The Gold Rush locker room on game days is electric and energetic. We spend a lot of our time together being a part of this team and in the locker room we are having fun and making lifelong memories without even realizing it. It's amazing to see how thankful everyone is and how much we appreciate being a part of this amazing organization.
Who is YOUR biggest cheerleader?
My biggest cheerleaders are my parents Jose and Lisa. You can spot them at games cheering the Gold Rush on with giant posters and matching shirts of me. They are the best parents in the world and every time I see them in the stands I remember how much they have sacrificed for me to be on that field. I cannot thank them enough and I'm so grateful for them.
Tell us about your favorite community appearance that you've attended as a Gold Rush Cheerleader.
An appearance that has been very special to me was one I did in my home town where a fellow Gold Rush Cheerleader and myself attended a cheer camp for young cheerleaders in the community. It was very special to me showing all the kids that even from a small town you can make your dreams into a reality.
Who is a woman in sports that inspires you?
A woman in sports that inspires me would have to be 49ers videographer Sarina Soriano. You have probably seen some of her amazing work on and off the field. She is truly breaking barriers and taking on a new meaning of videographer. I had the pleasure to work with her this season and she is truly amazing.
