Where were you born and where do you live now?
I was born in Taiwan but moved to Southern California shortly after. I now live right here in the Bay Area.
What personal accomplishment are you most proud of?
I am most proud of purchasing a car all by myself right out of college! I saved up what I earned from various jobs and internships I had during college and bought the car that I now drive.
Tell us more about your job.
I am a Full-Stack Software Engineer at a technology platform company in the Bay Area. I work on everything from the user interface to the backend services that power parts of the platform. The technology I work on is used by over 300 million monthly users.
What is a non-profit organization you're involved in and why did you choose to get involved?
I mentor students through CodePath, a non-profit organization committed to diversifying the tech space by providing free, tailored resources to students from underrepresented backgrounds. I chose to get involved with this organization because as a first-generation college graduate and CodePath alumna myself, I understand the immense value this program offers to underrepresented students. Now, being able to help and guide students who are in a similar position as I once was is incredibly fulfilling.
Who or what inspires you?
My parents are my biggest inspirations. They came to America not knowing anyone here in hopes of providing a better life for my family and me. I am where I am today because of all the opportunities they worked so hard to give me, and I am so grateful.
What's something our fans would be surprised to learn about you?
I grew up helping my parents run a baseball and softball batting cage and even had some former Dodgers players come to bat at our facility. Although I have never played baseball or softball myself, I know a lot about practice equipment, iron mike machines, and more!
What is your favorite memory at Levi's® Stadium?
My favorite memory at Levi's is walking out during our first preseason game and seeing my friends and family in the stands. It was my first time taking the field as a Gold Rush Cheerleader and I'm so happy I got to share that special moment with them.
What do you like most about being a member of the Gold Rush?
I love the community the Gold Rush has given me. I am surrounded by the most incredible, uplifting people and have gained a wonderful support system.
How has being a part of Gold Rush affected your life?
Being a part of Gold Rush has enriched my life in so many ways. It allows me to share my passion for dance on one of the biggest stages in the world while continuing to pursue my professional goals. It has also opened up new opportunities for me to give back to my community and provided me with an incredible support system.
What do you like most about the 49ers organization?
I love that the 49ers organization not only boasts an amazing football team but also an equally amazing foundation committed to giving back to the Bay Area. The 49ers Foundation's dedication to empowering the Bay Area Youth is so inspiring, with programs like PREP and EDU paving the way to a more equitable and inclusive future. I love that I can be proud of my team both on and off the field.
Who is a woman in sports that inspires you?
I am inspired by Kamilla Cardoso. She is a two-time NCAA WBB Champion, the 2024 NCAA Tournament Most Outstanding Player, and a current WNBA player. As a teenager, she came to America alone to chase her basketball dreams and create a better life for herself and her family. Her fierce and tenacious pursuit of her American dream inspires me to chase mine.
