The San Francisco 49ers announced on Monday that they have re-signed defensive tackle Tony Jerod-Eddie to a one-year deal.
Jerod-Eddie (6-5, 301) originally signed with the 49ers as an undrafted rookie free agent on May 7, 2012. He has appeared in 48 games (four starts) over the past four seasons, registering 124 tackles, one interception and one fumble recovery. In 2015, he appeared in all 16 games for the second consecutive season and finished with 24 tackles.
A 26-year-old native of DeSoto, Texas, Jerod-Eddie played in 51 games (38 starts) at Texas A&M, where he registered 148 tackles, 14.5 tackles for loss, seven sacks, two fumble recoveries and one forced fumble. As a senior, he earned Second-Team All-Big 12 honors.
